Why does my JBL speaker keep turning off

Nothing can be more frustrating than having your JBL speaker turn off while you’re enjoying a good piece of music. And what’s worse, it keeps on happening! Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. But the good news is that there is a good chance it’s a simple problem that you can quickly fix on your own even if you’re not tech-savvy.

In this blog, we’ll walk you through a step-by-step guide to assess and troubleshoot the bug in your JBL speaker. Once you get to the root of the problem, you can simply solve the issue by following our instructions.

Reasons Why Does My JBL Speaker Keep Cutting Out?

If your JBL speaker has a habit of frequently powering off, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

1.   Automatic Power Saving Feature

If your speaker is turned on without playing something for more than 10 minutes, it will automatically turn off. This happens because of an in-built feature that lets the speaker save power, while not in use.  This is totally normal and doesn’t indicate any problem with your speaker.

2.   Low Battery

Most problems with chargeable devices stem from issues with the battery. Your speaker will power off as soon as the battery runs out. JBL speakers have a long battery life so most people forget to charge until the speaker stops working.

Make sure your speaker is a good JBL speaker with a built-in long-lasting feature when fully charged.  If the problem persists, move on to the next assessment step.

3.   Faulty Power Supply

Did you charge your speaker for hours on end but it still turned off? This could indicate a problem with the charging cable or port. If the charging cable or port is faulty, your speaker won’t fully charge and switch off quickly.

To solve this problem try replacing the charging cable with a new one to charge the JBL speaker properly. Let your speaker fully charge and check. This will most likely help if the cause was a charging problem.

4.   Overheating

If you play audio at a very loud volume for a long time, your speaker might heat up and turn off. This happens because of the amplifier’s inbuilt mechanism to protect the speaker from overheating and being short-circuited.

To fix an overheated speaker carefully open the speaker and examine the wires. If any of the wires seems burnt you’ll have to get professional help. If nothing is burnt try fixing the wires into place and check if the problem goes away.

5.   Connectivity Problem

If your speaker is not in close proximity to the Bluetooth device, chances are it will keep on losing connection and switch off. Or if there are other electrical devices in the same room they could interfere with the Bluetooth signals to your speaker.

Make sure your speaker is close enough to the Bluetooth device so there is no possibility of disconnection.

6.   Charging logic Problem

In case none of the above methods could fix your speaker then it might be a charging logic problem. In simple words, this means that your speaker is misguided into thinking that the charge is lower than it actually is.

To eliminate this problem you’ll have to go for a factory reset.  After a factory reset your speaker will be as good as new but at the expense of losing all the previous settings and presets. You can do a factory reset on your own by following simple instructions on youtube.

From the reasons that I have explained above, you can easily find problems with all models like jbl go 2, jbl flip 4, jbl flip 5, jbl flip 6, etc. and turn them on with the solution I mention for each reason.

Bottom Line

JBL is one of the best speaker manufacturing companies but minor issues can arise every now and then. If your speaker keeps turning off while playing, it could be due to several issues like inadequate charging, overheating, or Bluetooth connection problems. Once you identify the root cause, you can easily find a solution and know how to stop jbl speaker from turning off
However, if none of the above methods work your last resort should be to contact the customer care center and get your product repaired or replaced.
